"No party can stand on its own" - Sabah BN Secretary

"It is unfair to him (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak). I am sure he has the wisdom to see all component parties are not sidelined in the next elections," Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Sabah BN Secretary.
"There is ample room for discussion between component party leaders at the State as well as national level," Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan

He said that commenting on Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Datuk VK Liew's claim on all six seats held previously by Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).

Liew basically said only LDP is eligible to claim for the six seats at the opening of the joint-annual general meeting of six LDP divisions in Sandakan on Sunday (14 August).

"Asking to be considered politely is okay but to demand by using words like 'my seats are non-negotiable' and 'I am the only one eligible for those extra seats' is pressuring the Prime Minister into a defensive position." Rahman said.
"As far as I am concerned, BN is always about talking and discussion. I know for sure that if the LDP President wants, to he can have a meeting with the Prime Minister and discuss their requests," he added.

Towards this end, Rahman reminded component parties that they need each other's support in order to win the election.

"No party can stand on its own. Therefore, it is important to ensure harmony and understanding between component parties especially as we near the elections," he said.
