Good relationship has been our primary focus - Head of the Anglican Diocese of Sabah

"The good relationship between different religious groups and respecting people of other faiths has always been among our primary focus," Right Reverend Datuk Albert Vun Cheong Fui, Head of the Anglican Diocese of Sabah.
Right Reverend Datuk Albert Vun

He was asked to comment on the raid by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) officials over the presence of a dozen Muslims at an event dinner at the part of the church  there.

Albert said that the church is always working for peace and good relationship between the races and also the different religious groups.

"We believe that faith and conviction of the heart cannot be forced upon. I think there is some statement already from some Christian leaders in West Malaysia there is no forcing Muslims or try to make them become Christians." he explained.

"Maybe there was some misunderstanding or mis-information," he said, adding the Church in Malaysia as a whole had been respectful of other religious groups.

"So we feel quite surprised over the controversy in Peninsula Malaysia recently," he added.
