SPF: Beyond Operational Repair

The memberships of Sabah People Front Party (SPF) President and Secretary General have been suspended following the changing of the party's name without the knowledge of the Supreme Council members.

SPF Deputy President Osman Enting said the decision was unanimously agreed to during a special meeting held in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday.

Thirty one Supreme Council members attended the meeting, said Osman who is also chairman of party's disciplinary council.

He warned action would be taken against those found to have used the party's name in carrying out activities or holding press conferences without prior approval from the party.

Osman who hails from here would be leaving for Kuala Lumpur where he is supposed to meet with officials of the Registar of Societies (RoS) and hand over the minutes of the special meeting.

SPF Supreme Council members led by Osman lodged a police report at the Karamunsing police station in Kota Kinabalu last Thursday, alleging that SPF had been renamed Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) through illegal means.

In the report, they alleged that the party's top officials had collaborated to send a false Extraordinary General Meeting minutes to the RoS.

The RoS approval was obtained on April 2 this year, it was learnt.
